SALA Book Club - "Evicted"

This month our Book Club is reading the 2017 Non-fiction Pulitzer Prize winner Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City by Matthew Desmond.

From Harvard sociologist and MacArthur "Genius" Matthew Desmond, a landmark work of scholarship and reportage that will forever change the way we look at poverty in America

In this brilliant, heartbreaking book, Matthew Desmond takes us into the poorest neighborhoods of Milwaukee to tell the story of eight families on the edge.

Discussion will be hosted by Chole either at her home in the Culver City area or at a coffee shop nearby. Please RSVP to be sure to get the exact location.

We have no theme or topic for what we read. Attendees each nominate a book for next month, and the final selection is made by a poll on our SALA Facebook group. We meet the 1st Sunday of each month.
