Help Day @ Safe Place for Youth

Safe Place outreach center outside area

Join SALA volunteers at this amazing drop-in center, where we'll get to helping on one of the many projects that need doing: repainting walls, re-organizing their clothing supplies, restocking the SPY toiletry closet, etc. Hundreds of youth come through their doors each week looking for basic necessities and support.

We've worked with them on a number of item drives and the youth homelessness count, and we're very excited about getting more involved this year.

Safe Place for Youth was founded in 2011 by a group of dedicated volunteers and Founder/Executive Director Alison Hurst, offering hot food, clothing and socks to homeless youth in Venice Beach from their cars. They prioritize low barriers for entry, harm-reduction, a trauma-informed approach, and the provision of a safe, supportive environment, offering a continuum of care that includes street outreach, drop-in services, case management, health and wellness, and education and employment programs.

This event it family-friendly. We're looking forward to seeing you there!
